Solange Knowles has denied that she is jealous of her sister Beyonce’s hugely successful career, saying that she kept out of the spotlight by choice.

The 27-year-old has fast become a fashion icon in recent years with her quirky and unique style, and she is now a guest columnist for Vogue magazine. While Solange is now becoming famous in her own right, she has spent most of her life in Beyonce’s shadow.

However, Solange doesn’t see it like that and is happy that she can still live a relatively normal life.

“I really enjoy my privacy and being able to walk my son to school every morning and pick him up every afternoon,” she told Rollercoaster magazine.

“I know that I couldn’t do that if I was at the next level – privacy, as you know, it just doesn’t belong to you anymore. I definitely made a conscious effort to stay as low key as I can and still do what I want to do.”

Solange recalls what it was like to watch Beyonce catapult to superstardom both in Destiny’s Child and as a solo artist.

“She was and is such a role model, but I think more so it was an insane learning process for me to have a big sister like that – to be able to see the good, the bad and everything in between that comes with fame and success, and to know what I was getting myself into.”

The successful singer’s younger sister admitted that being told what to do by other parents isn’t the best introduction to motherhood. She said: “I think it’s really important for every mother to find their own way. I think it’s actually the most annoying thing when you’re a new mom and you’re getting so much advice from other mothers! “You really just have to feel it out for yourself. But she’s my best friend and we talk at least every other day.” During an interview with Rollacoaster magazine, the 25-year-old revealed how becoming an aunt to the 30-year-old’s daughter Blue Ivy is like having a second child in one way. The star, who has a 7-year-old son, said: “It’s very different to being a mother, but there’s still that sort of magnetic bond and love that you can’t even put words on to describe. “I think babies in general are so lovable – and my sister’s baby, Blue, is so beautiful. She is really a beautiful little baby. We’re told the family is aware Whitney fell off the wagon in the weeks leading to her death — and they don’t want the same fate to befall her daughter. But they’re not putting pressure on her to enter rehab right away — they want to give her time to grieve during and immediately after her mother’s funeral today. Attempts to reach Bobbi directly were unsuccessful. So far, it’s unclear if Bobbi plans to heed her family’s advice.

According to reports.. Robin Thicke has been arrested for possession of marijuana, it has been reported.

The 34-year-old singer was arrested at around noon while sitting in his car near 3rd Ave and East 21st Street in New York.  Thicke was initially pulled over after being observed throwing an unknown object out of a window of the vehicle.  A source told Access Hollywood that police officers confiscated a cigarette box in the car and found a “roach”. The singer was then arrested and issued a summons. He was at the police station for around 15 minutes, and signed autographs for staff members while being processed.

I came across this video of Wendy taking a few moments on her show to talk about Whitney Houston, her own addictions, and hoping for reconciliation in later years. Although it may be seen as somewhat inappropriate (since it would basically be recanting Whitney’s addiction for the most part), she gave a possible solution…..  ”Reach out to that person and call ‘em out on it. Cuz even if they don’t quit, once you call ‘em out, it makes it harder for them to sneak around…get high.”

My daughter thought it would be funny/rebellious/cool to post on her Facebook wall just how upset she was and how unfair her life here is; how we work her too hard with chores, never pay her for chores, and just in general make her life difficult. She chose to share this with the entire world on Facebook and block her parent’s from seeing it. Well, umm… she failed. As of the end of this video, she won’t have to worry anymore about posting inappropriate things on Facebook… Maybe a few kids can take something away from this… If you’re so disrespectful to your parents and yourself as to post this kind of thing on Facebook, you’re deserving of some tough love. Today, my daughter is getting a dose of tough love.

I applaud this father, personally I feel that social media should be banned from teens. I can’t tell you how many times my teen daughter has created bogus FB/twitter accounts to keep me from watching her updates and every time she does it I find it. These kids think they are so freaking slick and dont know shat! LMAO!!

The first photos of Baby Blue Ivy was released via Jay Z’s  Jay’s blog, Life + Times, earlier  yesterday (February 10, 2010). I’m glad the proud parents released pictures on their own and didnt go the route that so many celebs go and sell pictures of their baby! Kuddos to the Carter’s!!!
